Sacred Voices Workshops
Sacred Voices' Poetry Workshops allow student writers to experiment with ways of translating their experience of the world into a language and form accessible to others. Over the length of the course, students will engage in informal, in-class writing exercises and discussions of identity, cultural history, social issues, and the sacredness of their voices. Our workshops will provide students with the invaluable gift of knowing one's self, history, and cultura through art and the gift of learning to give and receive thoughtful, constructive criticism. At the end of the program, students are invited to perform their poetry at our open mics or events that may be displayed to the general public.
Have Sacred Voices for After-School Programming
Consider our program to provide your students with a safe and inclusive space to explore their creativity and learn about the power of poetry. Poetry can be a tool for social justice and identity exploration, and we strive to create a program that celebrates our participants' diverse backgrounds and experiences.
Our program is available to schools in the Denver metro area and can be scheduled to take place on-site after school hours. We welcome students from all backgrounds and skill levels in grades 6-12. Our program is flexible and can be tailored to fit the specific needs and interests of each school and its students.
If you are interested in bringing our program to your school, please contact us via email or phone to discuss scheduling and logistics. We are also available to provide more information about our program and answer any questions you may have.
Every student deserves the opportunity to explore their creativity and find their voice through poetry. We look forward to working with you to create a meaningful and transformative experience for your students.
